Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Our programs are based on a one-to-one relationship between a committed, stable adult and a youth that would benefit from a mentoring relationship in his/her/their lives.
While our mentors are responsible for meeting with mentees weekly on their own time, the purpose of this request is to help sponsor monthly events for those in our program. Typically, mentors are responsible for covering the cost of all activities (in addition to giving their generous time). To help defray this cost, we offer one or two events each month that are free and open to anyone in our program.
Marana 2340 Foundation
The Marana Schools’ 2340 Foundation is committed to ensuring every student is prepared for future success and has a vision for life. As a committed partner with the Marana Unified School District, the 2340 Foundation will provide resources to nurture the educational experience of every student by supporting processes that enhance teaching and learning.
The purpose of this request is to obtain funding which will be used to purchase backpacks and grade-appropriate school supplies to distribute to financially insecure students in need in the Marana Unified School District.
Our Family Services’ mission is to eliminate homelessness and strengthen our community.
We do this by providing stability in times of crisis, linking people to support and resources, supporting social connectedness, engaging our neighbors to tackle tough community issues, and acknowledging and combating systemic inequities through policies and advocacy.
Housing is a fundamental human need and is vital in improving the lives of our community’s most vulnerable members. We focus on serving youth, LGBTQ+ youth, and families because homelessness is especially harmful to a young person’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
We seek the continued support of local foundations like the Tucson Realtors Charitable Foundation as we remain committed to our mission of eliminating homelessness here in Tucson.
Pima County Community Land Trust
After 13 years of operation, Pima County Community Land Trust (PCCLT) is highly aware of the need for fair, equitable and inclusive housing opportunities and how critical housing is to health and wellness.
Our primary programs and services include providing affordable housing, housing counseling, monetary assistance (when available), advocacy, and other types of education and coalition building.
Our land trust provides affordable homes on land that is community-owned through PCCLT.
We are requesting funds to support our housing counseling services. We operate a HUD-approved housing counseling program that works to resolve all housing related needs. In addition to pre-purchase counseling, we also do post-purchase counseling for homeowners that are facing unstabilizing events.
2023 4th Quarter Grant Recipients
The Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery Foundation is charged with raising funds to be used to beautify the cemetery. One of our projects is to partially enclose our committal shelter. This is where the interment ceremonies are held. One of the issues with our shelter is the exposure to wind, rain, and sometimes extreme heat. Often during these ceremonies flagged draped caskets get wet, photos of the deceased are blown over, and there is a sense of discomfort for the attendees, and officiants. By enclosing the arched areas, we feel we can decrease the elements in the main area where the service is held.
The DLT Chief’s Group has been operating as a private organization on Davis-Monthan AFB since November 1993. Our organization is deeply committed to enhancing the quality of life for the young Airmen in our community through financial support programs, personal and military education, and community service activities. As Airmen serve our nation with dedication and sacrifice, it is our duty to provide them with the support and resources they need to thrive.
Through our efforts, we aim to alleviate financial burdens, promote educational advancement, and create an interactive and supportive community that empowers and uplifts our Airmen. The impact of our organization is profound and far-reaching, directly improving the lives of those who protect our freedoms by dedicating time and resources to improve their health, morale, and welfare. With your generous support, we can expand our programs during the holiday season, further enrich the lives of Airmen, and contribute to the overall well-being of our community.

Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona began in 1968 as a project of Meals on Wheels, when a grant was received to provide a more robust meal delivery service to older persons than what Meals on Wheels offered. We began providing special diet meals, and two meals daily, to meet this need, and continue to do so today.
In 1970, when the grant ended, a core group of volunteers including those from the Pima County Medical Society Auxiliary, wanted to continue this service. And that’s when Mobile Meals of Tucson was born. We became Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona in 2017, to better reflect our geographic service area and the Board’s vision for growth in the decades to come.
Today, more than half of those serve require special diets, and we now offer three great meal service options to meet clients’ needs. We serve people of all income levels and offer reduced-cost options for people whose income meets our established eligibility guidelines.

Candlelighters supports, serves and advocates for children and adolescents with cancer and other blood disorders, their families, long term survivors, bereaved families, and the professionals that care for them.
Candlelighters currently serves approximately 300-450 children and family members annually. In Southern Arizona about 70 children a year are diagnosed with cancer, and treatment lasts an average of 2 ½ years. For many children, the long term effects remain for a life time and navigating a new normal in school is very difficult. School advocacy is an area for which we provide numerous resources.
